Information desk

Questions, answered by the crew.

Q.01What does it cost?

One-time projects start at $150: a logo from $150, a one-page site from $250 and an online store from $500. Monthly plans start at $1,500 a month. Tell us your budget in the brief and we’ll suggest a scope that fits, whether that’s a single logo, a one-page site or ongoing work. Quotes are always free.

Q.02How do payments work? Is there a deposit?

One-time projects start with a 50% deposit, and the rest is due when we deliver your final files. Monthly and retainer plans are billed at the start of each month. Invoices are due within 14 days.

Q.03Do you work with individuals and small businesses?

Yes, that’s who we love working with most: local shops, solo founders, artists, creators and side projects that are ready to look the part. You get the same care we’ve given much bigger names.

Q.04Who is behind Reality Machine?

We’re a small crew of multidisciplinary artists, programmers and designers. Illustration, branding, web, apps and hardware all happen under one roof, and you talk directly to the people making your thing.

Q.05How does the monthly plan work?

Send unlimited requests and we work through them one at a time. Change tiers anytime (we prorate when you move down) or pause for a month or two. Your slot will be waiting.

Q.06How do revisions work?

We don’t cap them on monthly plans. We keep going until it’s right, whether that’s colors and layout or how an app feature behaves. One-time projects include 1–2 rounds.

Q.07What if it isn’t working out?

Tell us early and we’ll take it in a different direction within your revision rounds. If you’d rather stop, either side can end a one-time project in writing: you pay for the work done so far and get the files for it. The deposit isn’t refundable once work has started.

Q.08Do I own the files, and which files do I get?

Yes, once it’s paid in full. The final work we made for you is yours to use however you like, and you get the final files in every format you need. Concepts you didn’t choose stay with us. Fonts are typically licensed, unless we make custom typography for your project, and we’ll tell you up front if a font or stock image needs a paid licence in your name.

Q.09Can I edit my own website after launch, and who handles hosting and the domain?

It depends on the project and your needs. We work with a variety of content management systems (CMS) that make your website easy to edit yourself after launch, or we provide documentation for custom solutions. Hosting and domain costs aren’t included in our prices unless your quote says so.

Q.10Do you handle printing (signs, merch, menus)?

Yes, we do! We work with a variety of vendors and partners for physical products, signage and merch. Just let us know what you need and we’ll be happy to take care of it for you. Printing costs are included in your quote.

Q.11What happens after launch?

If something we built doesn’t work as it should, tell us within 30 days of delivery and we’ll fix it for free. Even after that, we fix most small issues for free. For ongoing updates and upkeep, retainers start at $50 a month.

Q.12What’s a typical timeline?

You’ll usually see first concepts within 72 hours: wireframes, mockups, prototypes or brand directions. Bigger builds like apps ship in phases, so you can review as we go.

Q.13Who actually makes the work?

Our crew does. Every logo, illustration, layout and asset we deliver is made by human artists, designers and developers, never generated. Hiring us supports working artists, and what you get is original and fully yours.

Q.14Why do you only take a few clients at a time?

So every project gets our full attention. A small roster means faster replies, deeper understanding of your business, and work we’re proud to sign.
